About Me

Originally from the Black Country in the West Midlands, I moved to Manchester in 2018 and could not be happier with my decision. I am a father of a beautiful little girl and I have a passion for art, photography and trying new things for the sake of it. I always try and find time out of work to be creative and learn something new, whether that's learning to play the ukulele or learning Italian. Fatherhood has definitely enhanced this within me and taught me the importance of slowing down; as my little girl helps me to see the world for the first time, through her eyes. I find that this also helps with my work as a therapist. Coming from a small town and a working-class background I am very passionate about working with the community to support people to reach their full potential.

I have worked in mental health for over 12 years in various roles and services, ranging from primary care services such as Talking Therapies (previously knows as IAPT) to secondary services, working in inpatient services. I qualified as a therapist in 2019 and have been in private practice since 2021.

Whilst I can and do work with people from all backgrounds, I mostly work mostly with men struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, OCD & trauma, relating to their life experiences (both past and recent). Clients that choose to work with me are hard working, passionate people who like a bit of banter on the side. The therapeutic relationship is proven to contribute to 50% of success in therapy and so I prioritise the relationship with my clients from start to finish. I mostly use CBT and EMDR but have training in other models to enhance therapy (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). My style of therapy is evidence based, structured, has a clear goal and provides my clients with the tools to overcome their problems and improve their relationships.

I offer online therapy, using both cognitive and behavioural interventions or EMDR, to tailor therapy to your needs. I use assessment and formulation to explore your cultural experiences, sexuality and other such "pieces of the puzzle" to help me see the problem through your eyes and mindset. This enhances the therapeutic process and can contribute towards positive outcomes in therapy.

The person who will never leave your side, is you. Perhaps that's the relationship you need to nurture the most.
