About Me

Originally from the Black Country in the West Midlands, I moved to Manchester in 2017 where I started studying to become a therapist. I have a life is too short to live the same day twice philosophy and so my hobbies and interests change all the time. Growing up this was always seen as a negative trait of mine, until I sat opposite my own therapist and learnt to look at my life and the world around me with a different perspective. Yes, that's right, I have been to therapy too which helps me immensely as a therapist, I understand what it's like to be sat in that position. I always try and find time out of work to be creative and learn something new, whether that's learning to play the ukulele, learning Italian and whatever else pops into my mind. I am a father of one, an experience that has and continues to change the way I view the world. Seeing the world through my child's eyes helps me to stay connected to what is truly most important to me and motivates me to want to be a better person and therapist. This experience has proven to be helpful in the therapy space as well as my personal life.

I have worked in mental health for over 12 years in various roles and services, ranging from primary care services such as Talking Therapies (previously knows as IAPT) to secondary services, working in inpatient services. I qualified as a therapist in 2019 and have been in private practice since 2021.

Whilst I can and do work with people from various backgrounds, I mostly work with young men and adults (16+) struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, OCD & trauma, relating to their life experiences (both past and recent). Clients that choose to work with me are hard working, professional people who like a bit of banter on the side and are looking to overcome barriers to them achieving their full potential in life. The therapeutic relationship is proven to contribute to 50% of success in therapy and so I prioritise the relationship with my clients from start to finish. I am a BABCP accredited CBT therapist and EMDR therapist; I also have training in other models to enhance therapy (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). My style of therapy is relaxed and informal, and always has a clear goal that we agree on collaboratively. I aim to provide my clients with the tools to overcome their problems and improve their relationships, whilst building self-esteem and confidence.

I offer online therapy, using both cognitive and behavioural interventions or EMDR, to tailor therapy to your needs. I use assessment and formulation to explore your cultural experiences, sexuality and other such "pieces of the puzzle" to help me see the problem through your eyes and mindset. This enhances the therapeutic process and can contribute towards positive outcomes in therapy, meaning you get to get back to doing what you love, with the people you care about.

The person who will never leave your side, is you. Perhaps that's the relationship you need to nurture the most.
